From 6 April 2004, YICT launched the new version of "EASYPORT" (www.easyport.com.cn).
Meanwhile, the previous "eXpress" under the column of Functions List at the web was renamed "Shipping Lines Operation". The website of eXpress (http://express.easyport.com.cn:8080 ) will be ceased on 6 May 2004.
January 20: After one month's development and testing, Yantian International EASYPORT (easyport.com.cn) announced to their clients a new container loading/discharge instruction, the EDI Communication- UN/EDIFACT SMDG COPRAR D00B (COPRAR D00B). Please refer to attached (COPRAR.pdf)
Afternoon January 10: Yantian International, EDI Center and the relative clients gathered together to exchange their experiences, comments and suggestion on the EDI Booking system. Please refer to attached (gathering.pdf)

Early December: The Internet Approval of Marine Hazardous Cargo function was released. Please refer to attachment (Internet Approval of Marine Hazardous Cargo.pdf)
Mid November: Coordinating the propaganda of the corporate operation improvement, we constructed a public bulletin board for the Pre-declaration System of Empty Container Import, and demonstrated it to company staff and their relatives at the company's Culture Week and Happy Family Day.
End of November: EASYPORT collaborated with nGen to announce the operation system of the new generation of port. Like nGen, it offers to the clients the service of greater network facility, flexibility, and safe and customer-oriented function exchange ability.
Mid July: Pre-declaration System of Empty Container Import started. The release time of the empty container import was shortened to 0.2 days. Nearly 30 shipping companies utilized this function. The shipping companies, shippers, the truck forwarders and so on decreased operation expenses considerably. The opening rate of the container in checking the empty container import at dock was reduced accordingly.
Mid May, Shenzhen Customs and YICT signed a memorandum of co-operation memorandum to expedite customs declarations. The issues included are: management of customs supervisions areas;, provisional customs clearance for provisional imported empty containers; and supervision of international trans-shipment cargo at the terminal.
May 1: Yantian International introduced the Port Transportation Easy Card completely to the port gate. The card automatically reads and prints EIR and CMS. It can identify the truck and collect fees electronically. This greatly reduces the truck drivers' waiting time at the port gate and over 11,500 trucks registered in Yantian International benefit from this apparatus.
Dapeng Customs and YICT jointly implemented the pre-declaration of empty containers, to streamline customs supervision over empty containers., This effort achieves "pre-declaration, release after discharge, gatehouse management and completion of necessary procedures afterwards".
At the beginning of April, "easyport" (www.easyport.com.cn) was put intogiven a trial run. Meanwhile, tTwo additional functions, Logistics Tracking in Port and Container Enquiry, were introduced.
Mid March, "Shipping Lines Operation" was launched for shipping lines to check information in real time. The system replaced the previous "Integrated Community System" which is specifically used by Customs, Frontier Inspection, and the Harbour Bureau for inquiring obtaining terminal information.

YICT remained as a pilot corporation for customs declaration reform, and made efforts to become a model for such reform.

As per requiredment ofby the Customs, YICT developed the systems of Customs International Tranship Express, Electronic Monitoring, Vessel Application and Tally Pier-side Operation system under ICS, and computeriszed and net web above business into the computer and network, greatly improving the operation efficiency. Later, these systems were developed into the YEDP (Terminal Electronic Data Platform), with the purpose of serving all the users in the terminal community, providing a safe, stable and convenient platform, and sharing the electronic data of thebetween community users.

CCS and ICS were continuously upgraded to meet the requirements of Customs and terminal operations.

Terminal operations systems were officially linked with the customs system H883. As a result, the new terminal system CCS and terminal operation system TOMS were closely connected with the customs H883 release and detention data. Meanwhile electronic gates were installed to effectively monitor terminal operations.

An Integrated Community System (ICS) was started, to serve the community users of YICT. All of themusers including shipping lines, Customs and agents could check real time terminal information through this system. Meanwhile,Also, the customs system CCS, jointly developed by the terminal and Dapeng Customs, provided a customs monitoring platform for the shippers, agents and customs declaration agents.
